Stairs Series I

2016 - 2020

Body of work around stairs as fractions of architecture, volumes and spatial objects.

One does not usually linger on a staircase, there are non-spaces, passages, temporary spaces to be. The lead, suggest, introduce. They have personality.

The stairs from this series are explored, documented, photographed, sometimes sites for interventions. More often the collected stairs are reappropriated through paper structures, becoming delicate objects, slightly imperfect sculptures. Mementos of a space they may suggest, or miniature sites for imagination.
